Bump Channel

Bump Channel

Active bumping only. Discover Hub servers use a discover channel instead. Passive listing servers don't need a bump channel at all.

The bump channel is where incoming bump ads from other servers are delivered — it's how your members discover new communities. BumpIt! also creates your server's invite link here, so when someone clicks your ad, they can join.

Free tier

A bump channel is required on the free tier. You must configure one before /bump will work.

Required bot permissions in this channel:

  • View Channel (bot + everyone)
  • Send Messages
  • Embed Links
  • Create Invite

Premium

With an active Premium subscription, the bump channel requirement is removed — you can run /bump from any channel the bot has access to. Your invite link is set independently via the Invite Channel setting.

How to set it up

Run through the Setup Wizard from your server's dashboard — it will walk you through picking the right channel. Or go to Setup → Advanced Setup to configure it directly.

Tips

  • A dedicated #bump-ads or #server-discovery channel keeps things tidy and makes it easy for members to browse incoming ads
  • The channel must be visible to regular members — if they can't see it, they can't discover and join the advertised servers
  • Your invite link is auto-created in this channel. If you want members joining through a different channel, you can change the invite channel separately in Advanced Setup
